The information security market in Moldova is constantly developing. There are more widely known, accessible and understood directions of information security, but there are also some that are legislatively limited and therefore not properly explored. One narrow human security direction is also Polygraph.
Polygraph tests are extremely little known in Moldova and are applied only by bodies regulated by Law No 269 of 12.12.2008. Since Polygraph tests really have a much wider range of coverage and can positively contribute to the solution of various legal problems, the “XONTECH Academy” team organized for the first time in our country a free Workshop on the topic – “Assessment of Simulated Behavior by Polygraph Technique”.
Andrian Cornei, General Director XONTECH Academy: The purpose of this event was to promote the correct practices of using the Polygraph technique, the benefits that can be brought to society by expanding this field and informing interested people about the fact that in the Republic of Moldova there is an authorized partner “Lafayette”. Invited to the event were specialists working in institutions that have in their competence the assessment of simulated behavior. The institutions that have the right to test are the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Customs Service, National Anticorruption Center, Security and Intelligence Service.
Doina, Workshop participant: It is a useful, important event as we have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies, scientific methods in the use of the Polygraph technique directly from Alexandru Dragos, a highly qualified specialist. He is himself trained by Raymond Nelson, US Polygraph Examiner who is a vocal advocate of improved quality assurance protocols for polygraph testing in clinical and forensic environments.
For about 2 and a half hours information was presented on techniques for using the Polygraph according to the latest scientific protocols. The modern computerized computerized system “Lafayette” LX6, together with all its accessories, was presented and its features described. At the end of the webinar, the participants actively discussed topics on the fields of application of the Polygraph, the conditions of its organization, the legal framework and the possibility of expanding the scope.
In its two presentations – conventional and computerized – the polygraph is a system for detecting simulated behavior, which has become a widespread tool in areas where uncovering the hidden truth is absolutely necessary for ensuring social balance.
In addition to the judicial and forensic fields, the polygraph can also be used to positive effect in the fields of psychology and private business.
Technical refinement and the evolution towards computer-assisted interpretation make the polygraph extremely user-friendly, so that it is a natural complement to the science and personal skills of psychologists.
In order to make the use of the Polygraph possible to be used more widely, appropriate training of Examiners is required. For this purpose “XONTECH Academy” has also launched a multi-module training program for Polygraph Examiners and Polygraph Examiners’ training. On the basis of the certificates obtained, but also in accordance with the legislation in force, the course participants will be able to work in this field.
