Business continuity plans are essential for the continued operation of all types of businesses. These plans are of increasing importance as businesses increasingly rely on technology to do business. The ISO 22301 standard specifies requirements for planning, establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, revising, maintaining and continually improving a documented management system to prepare you to respond to and recover from destructive events should they occur.
Incidents can take many forms, from natural disasters, acts of terrorism to loss of passwords, deletion of data, key people leaving the company, server failure, etc.
The standard is applicable to all organizations regardless of their size, location or activity. This standard will help organizations to design a BCM (Business Continuity Management) that is appropriate to their own needs and meets the requirements of their stakeholders.
